ZAPO (Zwaanswyk Association of Property Owners) is a Non Profit Company which has been set up in accordance with the City Council's Special Ratings Area (SRA) initiative to enhance and supplement municipal services.

ZAPO's mandate, as approved by the majority of residents when it was established in 2011 is as follows:

• To erect and maintain a baboon deterrent fence
• To provide common area security
• To enhance and ensure the maintenance of common areas by the City
• To communicate with members on the above aspects

ZAPO is run by a board of directors consisting of 8 VOLUNTEER residents who are passionate about maintaining the safe and unique qualities of this special area.

All residents of Zwaanswyk pay a monthly levy to the City with their rates bill which is calculated according to the annual budget supplied to the City and approved by members at the AGM prior to the new financial year, which commences in July the following year.
